April 2016 marks the end of the LASPO insolvency exemption


On 17 December 2015, the government announced the current exemption under Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO) for insolvency litigation will come to an end. Therefore, proceedings brought by liquidators, administrators and trustees in bankruptcy to recover the assets of the insolvent estate will no longer be excluded and will be subject to the same costs system as other forms of civil litigation.
