| Property & Commercial Litigation
Hamza acted for the defendant in the reported decision of Armitage Holdings Inc, Blackfriars Land Limited & The personal Representatives of Donald Garrett Deceased v Parick Joseph Delahunty, heard in the Chancery Division of the High Court. This case involved a substantial claim on the basis of proprietary estoppel, unpaid construction work and dishonoured cheques. Hamza’s preparation, approach to legal strategy and attention to detail were described as ‘second to none’ by Counsel.
Further, Hamza successfully represented the defendant, a property contractor, on a pro bono basis in a complex property litigation case involving a disputed partnership. Hamza took the role of litigator and advocate. His Honour Judge Deight commended Hamza’s advocacy and legal strategy during the trial stating that he ‘represented his client with great skill’.
In addition Hamza has experience in executing residential and commercial property transactions as well as negotiating commercial leases for Landlords and Tenants. Hamza’s client base has developed into an impressive portfolio of property developers & city workers in the corporate, banking & legal fields.
Hamza’s background is in property management and real estate development. His experience has included managing and expanding a substantial property portfolio of serviced apartments in the Kensington area as well as managing a popular 120 room hotel in Central London.
Sports Management
Hamza acts as a player’s agent for domestic & international footballers. He sources and negotiates player contracts and commercial deals on behalf of footballers ensuring that the player’s interests are catered for as well as securing their future well-being. Hamza’s contacts in the Football industry are vastly widespread.
Hamza advised Nashat Akram (FIFA’s third best Asian Player in 2007) on a Judicial Review matter during his widely publicised case which stirred controversy when the Home Office refused to grant a work permit application to join Manchester City on the basis that Iraq did not position in FIFA’s top 70 rankings.
In addition to management, Hamza is known for scouting gifted Middle-Eastern athletes and providing a platform to showcase their talents on the finest global stage.
Hamza ignited and manages the professional boxing career of Iraq’s 2004 Olympic Boxer, Najah Ali, who currently stands as one of British boxing’s finest prospects. Hamza remains an advisor and negotiator for two time world boxing champion Herbie Hide.
Hamza plays as a striker for ‘London Lawyers Football Club’. This team comprises of British lawyers selected to represent London in the Mundiavocat (the football world cup for lawyers). Hamza represented London in the 2006 Mundiavocat which was held in Antalya, Turkey. Participation included 47 teams of lawyers from 26 nations. Hamza has been called up to represent London again in the upcoming 2010 Mundiavocat.
Serious Crime
Hamza spent the first stage of his career in the Fraud and Serious Crime department where his experience primarily revolved around cases involving allegations of fraud and financial crime including amongst other offences, money laundering, international drugs conspiracies, sexual offences, violent crime, regulatory breaches and MTIC fraud.
